RATAS – Calon Wali Kota Tangerang Selatan (Tangsel) nomor urut 1, Benyamin Davnie, mengakui bahwa pencalonannya tidak terlepas dari bayang-bayang Airin Rachmi Diany, yang kini mencalonkan diri sebagai Gubernur Banten.
Pria yang pernah menjabat sebagai Wakil Wali Kota di bawah kepemimpinan Airin selama dua periode ini menilai situasi tersebut merupakan bagian dari fatsun politik. “Iya, itu karena fatsun politik,” ujar Benyamin.
Benyamin berpasangan dengan Pilar Saga Ichsan dalam Pilkada Tangsel 2024. Mereka, yang merupakan petahana, direkomendasikan langsung oleh Partai Golkar pada Agustus 2024. Airin sendiri merupakan Ketua Dewan Pimpinan Daerah (DPD) Partai Golkar.
Selain dukungan dari Partai Golkar, pasangan Benyamin-Pilar juga didukung oleh 15 partai lain, antara lain PDI-P, Gerindra, Demokrat, PAN, Nasdem, PSI, PPP, PKB, PBB, PKN, Gelora, Hanura, Ummat, Buruh, dan Perindo.
“Karena saya diusung oleh 16 partai politik, otomatis Partai Golkar dan PDI-P yang mengusung Airin juga menitipkan dan mengarahkan saya,” kata Benyamin.
Benyamin menyatakan rasa kegembiraannya mendapatkan nomor urut 1 dalam pencalonan, yang sama dengan nomor yang diperoleh Airin pada Pilkada Banten. “Ini menggembirakan bagi kami, karena ini linier dengan Ibu Airin yang juga mendapatkan nomor yang sama (satu),” ujarnya.
Dia berharap nomor satu dapat memberikan makna positif bagi pasangan Benyamin-Pilar. “Saya bergembira dengan nomor yang saya dapatkan, dan semoga sesuai dengan maknanya,” kata Benyamin.
Kedatangan Benyamin-Pilar saat mendaftarkan pencalonan ke Kantor KPU Tangsel pada Agustus 2024 juga didampingi langsung oleh Airin dan partai-partai pengusung lainnya.
Benyamin akan menjadi penantang pasangan Ruhamaben-Shinta yang diusung oleh Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) dalam kontestasi politik di Tangsel untuk periode 2024-2029.
Pasangan Benyamin-Pilar mengklaim telah mengunjungi lebih dari 200 titik di wilayah Tangsel dalam agenda kampanye yang dimulai pada 25 September 2024. Berdasarkan PKPU Nomor 2 Tahun 2024, pelaksanaan kampanye Pilkada 2024 akan berakhir pada 23 November 2024. (HDS)
