RADAR TANGSEL RATAS – Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto meyakini bahwa Indonesia bakal mampu mencapai swasembada energi terbarukan di masa depan. Energi terbarukan itu, kata Prabowo, diproduksi dari tanaman seperti tebu dan singkong yang bisa menghasilkan etanol. Hasil etanol dari tebu dan singkong itulah yang kemudian dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan bakar kendaraan pengganti bensin.
“Kita nanti green energy dan kita akan swasembada energi bensin, dari mana? Dari etanol. Etanol dari mana? Dari tebu dan singkong,” tutur Prabowo dalam orasi ilmiah saat Wisuda Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia (UKRI) di Trans Convention Centre Bandung, Jawa Barat, beberapa waktu lalu.
Menurut Prabowo, dalam beberapa tahun ke depan, Indonesia mampu mengubah BBM jenis biodiesel seluruhnya berbahan baku dari kelapa sawit yang bertujuan untuk menghentikan impor bahan bakar dari luar negeri.
“Kita sudah bisa bikin B100, artinya biodiesel dari kelapa sawit 100 persen. Bisa kita bayangkan nggak? Kita tidak akan impor lagi solar dari luar negeri, karena kita punya produksi kelapa sawit sekarang 48 juta ton,” papar Prabowo.
Tercatat, implementasi Biodiesel hingga saat ini baru mencapai 35 persen atau B35. Penerapan B35 dilaksanakan sejak Februari 2023 oleh Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral menyusul keberhasilan program Biodiesel 30 persen (B30). Ini merupakan langkah pemerintah untuk mengurangi impor minyak dan menghemat devisa negara.
Seperti yang dilansir cnbcindonesia.com (3/3/2024), adapun target penyaluran biodiesel di tahun 2035 mencapai 13,15 juta kiloliter. Hal ini akan menghemat devisa sekitar USD 10,75 miliar atau setara Rp 161 triliun. Program B35 ini diproyeksi akan menyerap tenaga kerja sekitar 1.653.974 orang serta pengurangan emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) sekitar 34,9 juta ton CO2e.
Dan ke depan nanti, pemerintah juga menargetkan penerapan B100. B100 adalah istilah untuk Biodiesel yang merupakan bahan bakar nabati untuk aplikasi mesin/motor diesel berupa ester metil asam lemak (fatty acid methyl ester/FAME) yang terbuat dari minyak nabati atau lemak hewani melalui proses esterifikasi/transesterifikasi. Rencana ini muncul seiring dengan kebutuhan energi yang lebih ramah lingkungan. (ARH)
